Etakah Edia is O4C Youth of the Month for March 2019!


Welcome to March & Happy New Month!

Our Youth of the Month is Etakah Edia! Etakah Edia is a Social Entrepreneur, an Agripreneur, a Woman Financial Empowerment Activist, a Certified Entrepreneur by UNCTAD and a Cameroon Leadership Academy Alumni. She has volunteered in many community projects and is a mentor of many organizations that work with women or agriculture in Cameroon and Africa as a whole like Young African Women in Leadership, African Youths in Agribusiness, among others.

In 2016, with her passion for women financial empowerment she founded SheSkill’d, a social venture that aims at creating an African community of challenged stereotype’s confident, capable women who are empowered, innovative and champion change by building the capacity, promoting and supporting women and girls to become economically empowered.


She is also a Co-founder to D-farma an agricultural startup. Etakah Edia has empowered over 300+ women with skills and has helped promote the business of many women in Cameroon and in Africa. Etakah Edia dreams of an Africa where there is reduced poverty, food and nutritional security and she believes economic women are economically viable. She believes economic security gives women a more influential voice in tackling injustice and other ill that affects women and that only skilled girls can be economically viable.

On Awards and Recognition

In 2018, Etakah received a DigCit SDG Award from the Digital Citizenship Institute (DCI) USA in partnership with Positive Youths Africa (PYA) as “Most Celebrated Digital Citizen, SDG 8” for her promotion of SDG Goal 8 (Decent work and Economic Growth) at the 2018 Digital Citizenship Summit Cameroon. She was also selected for the 6th Edition of the Cameroon Leadership Academy.

Her social venture SheSkill’d has also received community awards in regards to their works to promote African women to be innovative and financially independent/economically empowered.
